About

Alensi Studios

Alensi Studios Ltd is a UK-based creative technology practice focused on real-time virtual production, suit-free motion capture and scalable digital systems for live performance.

Founded in 2025, the studio operates at the intersection of theatre, immersive storytelling and applied research. Its work centres on adapting advanced real-time technologies to the practical realities of rehearsal rooms, small venues and festival environments.

Rather than importing cinematic infrastructure into theatre unchanged, the studio develops portable systems that prioritise performer usability, technical stability and dramaturgical integration.

Practice Direction

The studio’s ongoing research explores how virtual production and motion capture can be embedded within theatre in a way that is:

  • Scalable for small venues

  • Financially realistic

  • Performer-led

  • Technically stable

  • Creatively ambitious

The aim is not spectacle, but infrastructure — building systems that allow digital technologies to operate as part of the performance process itself.

Founder

Alensi Studios is led by Leon Norton, a Creative Technologist specialising in real-time Unreal Engine workflows and rehearsal-room-ready motion capture systems.

Leon began working in Unreal Engine in 2021–2022, initially developing short-form experimental animation before expanding into real-time performance systems.

His practice has evolved through independent research and professional collaboration, including work with the National Youth Theatre’s Digital Accelerator programme and live performance deployment at the Edinburgh Fringe.

He is currently completing a degree in Film & Television with Innovation, graduating in 2026, with a focus on the integration of virtual production technologies within creative and interdisciplinary contexts.
